1995
Kimberly Collins moved back to San
Francisco, CA, and established the Kindy
African Gemstone Company.
1996
Kimberly traveled to Nairobi, Kenya, for the first
time and fell in love with the gem trade and
Tanzanite. First year at AGTA GemFair, Tucson.
1997
Exhibited for the first time at AGTA
GemFair, Tucson, as a vendor.
1999
The business merged into Collins & Collins
Fine Colored Gemstones when Kimberly
partnered with her then-husband.
2008
After 12 years of travel and gem sourcing,
Kimberly launched Kimberly Collins Colored
Gems, focusing on fine, curated colored
gemstones and an 18k finished jewelry line.
2017
Became an AGTA Board member.
2021
InStore Design Award: 1st Place for
Colored Stone Jewelry Over 5k.
2022
Became AGTA President—2nd elected
female president since its founding in 1981.
2023
InStore Design Award: 1st Place for
Retailer’s Choice Best Rainbow.
